WHAT ARE LUMENS?

Lumens measure the amount of light given off by the 'lamp' or 'bulb'. More lumens means brighter and fewer lumens (you guessed it) dimmer light.

This table below compares older incandescent (which use far too much electricity and give off plenty of heat which will affect the lifespan of fittings, cables and diffusers) with newer LED lamps for reference, showing how many lumens the different wattages of lamp give off.
